DOORKEEPERS

Due to the questions we are being asked, we feel we should provide some answers.  It is always good to get information from the horses mouth. LOL  This is long but Please read to end! 

We, Pastor Don and Opal Dalton,  have been DOORKEEPERS at 3702 Knox Lane, 3702 Knox Lane, Knoxville, TN 37917, presently known as RIO Praise and Worship Center, since March 2013.  

We heard A WORD from the LORD to "Keep the Doors Open" on March 4, 2013,  and immediately took the necessary steps to obey God, not knowing if anyone would support the effort, but knowing we were being led by the Spirit of God to accept the assignment. We  did not have a congregation or financial supporters. We only knew we had a WORD FROM THE LORD!

In obedience to GOD, an even bigger step of faith was taken  when Pastor Don retired our business 5 weeks later,  in April 2013, leaving us without the personal income to which we were accustomed. We have not received personal income from the ministry these 3 years. 

BUT WITH GOD, it  has been an awesome 3 year journey.  GOD has been with us each step of the way.  HE has provided all that is needed, day by day, month by month, and year by year. We give HIM ALL honor, glory and praise for the many blessings, miracles, signs and wonders He has done for us and His people. GOD has provided faithfully all  rent, utilities and bills monthly on time, (with none left over),  but taking care of the daily and monthly needs. What a mighty God we serve! 

If you have followed this 3 year ministry,  you are probably aware that the property in which we are located  presently has been for sale for several years.  Other ministries have been there before our decision to obey God as His DOORKEEPERS when we learned the doors were closing! 

Pastor Don has encouraged us over and over to stay focused, and to stay on track. He and I knew we had a God given assignment regardless of the challenges and who or who was not, with us. We truly praise God that a few others  heard A WORD  and obeyed, coming beside us, and doing their part to "KEEP THE DOORS OPEN"!

Although the property has been For Sale all this time, the landlord waited until January 2016 to have the Realtor Sign placed on the property,  and to actively  market it. The Realtor  informed us mid December they would be doing this the first of January! God was not surprised,  and neither were we! The Realtor said the  owner wanted us to stay until it sold. We have not looked for another location as we did not know if they would sell it, especially under the ONLY terms the Realtor said they would accept, and to which we knew we were not willing, nor did we feel led by GOD to be responsible. 

Pastor Don and I repeatedly keep saying  "IF the property sells it will simply mean that we have COMPLETED our DOORKEEPER ASSIGNMENT at this location. And GOD will have an assignment and place for us".  This would not the end of RIO Praise and Worship Center (RIO PWC), or the end of work of the ministry through us, and those who feel led to work with us. We are a team,  on a mission to accomplish Gods assignment,  as He leads, and where He leads. And  we God will have a place for us. 

Some of you have heard or saw  Post and pictures on FB yesterday, and have been calling, texting, sending Inbox messages asking what is going on. So as you know, we are transparent,  and we desire to answer your questions honestly. There are ministries interested in the property.  And the property may be sold.  Perhaps it is time for us to explore options for moving.

One prospect told Pastor Don they were concerned  about us if they purchase, as we don't have a place to move. They said the Fetor said  of to worry about us. That it is our problem. Sounded pretty unprofessional and cold we thought. However to be honest, we know it is not 'our problem", as we are simply on a God given assignment. God calls whom He will. He sends those who obey. And He provides.
