A CERTAIN WOMAN

OCTOBER 22, 2016

In several instances in the Bible, there are references to "a certain woman", some who were nameless.  One was a widow whose husband was a son of the prophets. When he died, the family was left in debt.  The creditor was coming to take their two sons as bondsmen. The Certain Woman went to the prophet Elisha for  counsel. He asked her what was in her house. She said she only had a pot of oil.  Elisha told her to gather empty vessels, shut her and her sons in  and fill the vessels with oil. She followed the instructions.

Then she returned to Elisha when the last vessel was filled. He told her to sell the empty vessels to pay her debt, and for her and her sons to live on the rest.

We can learn many things from this portion of scripture. Regardless his break a situation or life happening may appear, God has a plan fir restoration and provision.

Seek first the Lord, which the best source to reveal what  you need to do in every situation.  Consider WHO and WHAT  is in YOUR house! Jesus Christ is Prophet, priest and King. You are the temple where the Lord dwells. Within you lies The Source for everything you will ever need.  As you recognize this,  and allow HIM to increase, you will find He is always there 24/7 to lead, guide, strengthen, comfort and provide.  Shut yourself in your secret closet,  and seek Him whole heartedly, thanking Him,  with no distractions. Take the time to wait for Him to speak to you.

What you did yesterday is not enough!  Allow Him to fill you to overflow daily!  His blessings will not only overtake and overflow you, they will enable you to be a blessing to others.
